STD Standard Suspensions

STD Standard Suspensions

Suspension cushions are the essential part for the maneuverability of the skate. Without them the skate would not perform edges and turns, and the skater could not maintain balance on the skates. The suspensions on STD Skates are made of elastomeric material for our Carbon, Master-B1, Hornet, Elyo, Ion, Vaial, Issy, Noah and Curve skates. The special design is complemented by the different hardnesses distinguishable by their color so that they adapt in each skate to the weight and power of the athlete.  The hardness of the suspensions installed on our STD skate frames are determined by the STD factory in Spain, but if other combinations are desired, you or your pro are responsible for the mix.

  • More information:

The upper suspension is the one nearest to the skate plate and is the biggest suspension.  The lower suspension is the one nearest to the skating surface and is the smallest suspension.

The upper suspension provides edge stability, while the lower suspension creates deep edges, precise turns, spins, and loops.

These suspensions can be mixed and matched to provide a custom skate action, based on your weight, height, and skating discipline. The hardness of suspensions that are delivered on our STD skate Frames are determined by the STD factory in Spain.  If other combinations are desired, you or your pro are responsible for the mix.
